There can never be no one.
— bina
An early experience in India* taught Bina about the realities of the world, but also, that there is a space for all of us to be helpers. Across sectors and around the world for 30 years, her work has focused on making tomorrow better than today for more of us. She has deep experience working large and small systems and organizational structures, and over the years has grown her practice to integrate breathwork, neuroscience, and unencumbered* leadership into organizational and individual leadership.
Her work as coach, facilitator, speaker, and author is purpose driven, with a deep belief that when we connect and create together, so much more is possible. And even in the darkest moments, so many of us are the light for others, to brighten the pathway… we can do this.

Bina’s leadership is shaped by over two decades of experience across the nonprofit, philanthropic, and government sectors, driving systemic change with a deep commitment to justice and equity. As Deputy Chief of Staff at Chicago’s City Hall, she managed over $1 billion in programs and policies, spanning human services, public health, community development, and human capital. This role solidified her belief that equitable, justice-centered decision-making is the key to meaningful change. In the nonprofit sector at organizations around the world, she worked directly with marginalized communities, nurturing her ethos of community self-determination and a profound respect for community wisdom.
In 2013, Bina founded Saathi Impact Consulting, a collective-good strategy and coaching firm dedicated to catalyzing bold, sustainable change for organizations and leaders. Through Saathi, she collaborates globally with nonprofits, philanthropic entities, and executives to tackle issues of equity, justice, and inclusion—empowering leaders to become effective changemakers in their communities and beyond.
Her academic foundation further strengthens her leadership approach, with an M.S. in Social Protection Finance from the University of Maastricht and an M.A. in International Human Rights from the University of Denver. This combination of hands-on experience and academic expertise fuels her unwavering commitment to social change and collective progress.
For over 25 years, Bina has bridged direct service, philanthropy, and public policy—all with the goal of empowering communities and driving transformative, systemic change. Her professional skills also include practices around breathwork and mindful leadership, neuroplasticity, change management, and culture building.
Guided by her father’s timeless question, “Are you helping people?” Bina remains fiercely focused on her mission to advance human rights, justice, and community empowerment.

methodology
the saathi methodology: a path to remember, envision what is possible, connect, and mobilize
-
Take a deep breath.
The first step is remembering — our power, our roots, and the people we are here to serve. In the midst of chaos and constant busyness, it’s easy to lose sight of who we are and what we’re capable of. Remembrance practices — guided reflection and breathwork — bring us back to our agency and purpose, reconnecting us to ourselves, each other, and the present moment. This is more than mindfulness; it’s an intentional reclaiming of our agency, rooted in deep learning and remembering who we truly are.
-
Navigating systems shaped by histories of oppression requires space to grow, learn, and dream. Through collective wisdom and open-hearted exploration, we create the time and space to expand our understanding and imagine what is possible. This phase is about more than knowledge — it’s about reimagining a world where change for the better is not only possible but inevitable.

lLeadership doesn’t happen in isolation. It doesn’t thrive or sustain itself alone. The Saathi methodology recognizes that true leadership is about collective action, where diverse voices unite to create lasting impact. Together, we activate our unique strengths, support each other’s growth, and mobilize for long-term, meaningful change. This is where true transformation begins—when we connect, collaborate, and move forward with purpose.
Step into your power, expand your vision, and lead together
